Bruma

Colombia is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, and thanks to its location, it is full of diverse and unique ecosystems. However, we rarely enjoy these landscapes because we consider them part of our daily lives.

Bruma is a home collection for Cestia inspired by Colombia’s natural ecosystems. It seeks to raise awareness of the country’s natural wealth. The collection arose from studying three ecosystems: paramo, Andean forest, and coral reef. This inspiration created a series of patterns for placemats, napkins, and wine glass covers.

Paramo

The paramo is an Andean intertropical ecosystem with arid vegetation, where frailejones and scrubs predominate. This type of landscape is represented by opaque colors such as indigo, olive-green, mustard, and beige.

Coral Reef

Coral reefs are extraordinarily diverse underwater ecosystems formed in warm, shallow waters of tropical seas. Some corals and algae create the ecosystem’s characteristic colors in their landscape. The color of the sea contrasts with warm tones such as orange, coral, and mint green.

Andean Forest

The mountain forests of the northern Andes, better known as the Andean forest, are cold, rainy, cloudy, and temperate. Its ecosystem predominates cool tones such as brown, army green, emerald green, beige, and autumn orange, representing the rusticity and robustness of forests.
